Campaign Promise:
I will not PAWS until all of the happy tails have happy families! History / Biography of the Candidate: It was March 2020 when Balto, his Momma and littermates made the trip from Texas to Divide and TCRAS. With COVID shutting everything down we brought Balto, his Momma and his seven siblings home to “foster”. We kept these puppies until they were ready for adoption but became “foster failures” when we kept Balto to join our family. Our daughters, who were not in school due to the pandemic cared for these puppies. As a surprise we presented the adoption papers and Balto to our daughter on her 15th Birthday. Balto has sensitivity and ability to comfort which was a huge help as we all dealt with the pandemic. Balto’s ability to comfort was put the test when our 11 y.o. German Shepherd, Bosco, passed unexpectedly. He came through with flying colors and has been sleeping with Bosco’s best friend Casey (our now 16 y.o. daughter) ever since. Candidate’s favorite activities: Balto loves to snuggle, meet new furry friends and watch TV. His favorite movies include Encanto and The Lion King. He also loves to eat popcorn. In fact, we almost changed his name to Popcorn, if a kernel of popcorn falls, he makes sure to snatch it up! Quirks, funny things about the Candidate: Loves to cuddle, popcorn, hiking and watching movies. When we come home we sometimes find him howling at the window. He likes to free fall when you pet him, knowing we will never let him fall. Anything else? Loves animals and there is not a furry friend he does not want to meet. |
