Campaign Promise:
Because Katee is bright and friendly, she is an excellent example of what a dog can be. Katee is the Mascot for the Pet Food Pantry that provides supplemental food so that their owners do not have to give up their “Best Friends” because they can not afford to feed them. Katee participates in fundraisers at local businesses, raising money and collecting food for dogs and cats. History/Biography: Katee, a Border Collie mix, was found pregnant, walking the streets of Ft. Stockton, TX. A Western Australian Shepherd Rescue member found her and thought she was special. Katee ended up in Guffey, and Terri, Dr. Volz’s Practice Manager, introduced her to me. I adopted her on July 28, 2019. I had recently lost my long-time Therapy Dog, Zack. She has gotten her CGC, CGCA, and CGCU Titles. As a member of the Alliance of Therapy Dogs, she visits nursing homes in the area and is a regular at DayBreak. Candidate’s Favorite Activities: Katee loves to hike, chase squirrels, and play with kids and other dogs. She enjoys agility training because it helps keep her in shape, healthy, and mentally stimulated. Chuck-it is another favorite activity. Quirks, funny things about the Candidate Katee loves to sleep on multiple pillows on my bed. When she does this, we call her “Lady Godiva.” Anything else? Katee is trying to train Baylee, who just turned one year old. It has been a challenge for her because Baylee is a heeler mix who nips at Katee’s legs to herd her. They wrestle and have fun chasing one another. Katee’s other housemates are two cats and Carlee, a 15-year-old lab mix. She gets along great with them. Baylee, Carlee, and one of the cats, JoJo, were adopted from TCRAS. |
