Campaign Platform: “If elected (and even if I’m not) I promise to inspire my mom to carry nutritious and delicious food and treats at Divide Feed for all of my friends: old, new, and ones I haven’t even met yet. I will always make sure the dogs and cats (and reptiles, and small pets, and horses, and livestock) of Teller County have access to a diet that supports a happy, healthy life. And you can hold me to it!” -Ruby Roo History/Biography: Ruby Roo moved to Woodland Park to live with her new parents as a year or so old pup in 2013, and for the last 7 years, she’s been the most wonderful companion and barn dog anyone could ask for. She’s made so many friends in all that time: dogs, cats, humans, chickens, bunnies, horses, cows, even an ornery old goat! So when her mom started working at Divide Feed a few years ago, of course Roo decided to tag along and add “feed store dog” to her resume. Boy oh boy has it been the best job ever. Now she not only gets lovin’ from her family and ranch friends, but from the whole Divide Feed family too! Roo might just be the most petted pup in the county, and she wouldn’t have it any other way. Fave Activities: Ruby loves napping on the couch, napping in the sunshine at the ranch, and napping at Divide Feed. When she’s not napping though, she enjoys hikes with her family (including her cat, Tonks!), playing with her friends, and mooching treats and ear scratches off of Divide Feed customers. Other things you might like to know: 1. Roo loves dressing up: sweaters are a must-have fashion item, she insists on wearing her jacket in the snow or else her paws get too cold (yeah, you read that right), and you’ll never ever catch her without a bespoke bandana around her neck. 2. She can’t howl without it turning into a yawn. 3. She used to have a significant hind end limp (bad sitting habits and an old injury caused her bum to fall asleep easily) but thanks to her raw, fresh food diet, chiropractic care, and daily massages, it’s all healed! BUT she still comes around the counter at the store sporting that limp for certain human friends because she knows it’ll get her extra kisses and cuddles. 4. Even though she’s a dog, Ruby is really here for the cats. She just loves cats so much. Loves kissin’ ‘em, groomin ‘em, cuddlin’ ‘em; and doesn’t even get mad when they want nothing to do with all that and smack her right in the face. If a cat smacks her in the face, she loves starin’ at ‘em longingly. Ruby Roo is the littlest rottweiler you’ve ever seen, so we affectionately call her our “teacup rottie.” One of our favorite things is when she gets to meet a “real rottweiler” and her petite frame is all the more noticeable.
