Erin Michael

Board Member

Erin Michael has been part of the Teller County Regional Animal Shelter (TCRAS) family since 2018, beginning as a Doggy Day Out volunteer and adopter of her soul dog. What started as volunteering quickly grew into years of hands-on commitment, including fostering many dogs over the years—especially several mama dogs and their puppies. Today, Erin continues to serve TCRAS as both a Board Member and volunteer trainer, staying deeply connected to the dogs and people who make the shelter what it is.

Outside of TCRAS, Erin is a multi-certified dog trainer and behavior professional, holding credentials as a KPA-CTP, BCBA, ADPT, and AKC Evaluator. She is the Master Jedi behind No Limits Behavioral Solutions, a company dedicated to supporting disabled adults and children through compassionate, evidence-based services. Erin shares her life with a service dog named Kai and several other incredible dogs—each one a teacher in their own way. She is also proud to report that the current Mayor of Divide is her dog Fern, who takes her role very seriously by meeting new dogs at TCRAS and helping assess how dog-friendly they are.

In her spare time, Erin can almost always be found training with her service dog Kai, hiking with Oliver and the rest of the pack, or camping—always with dogs in tow. Much of her life is spent training for sport or service, exploring the outdoors, and doing all things nature. Oliver, one of her beloved dogs and a frequent hiking companion, is named after the poet Mary Oliver, a reflection of Erin’s deep appreciation for mindfulness, curiosity, and finding meaning in the natural world.

Erin moved to Colorado in 2015 to help her son. Although he passed away in 2016, she feels his presence in everything she does. Her work with animals, advocacy, and service is deeply personal—rooted in love, resilience, and the belief that connection can heal. Erin brings that heart into every role she holds, especially her continued commitment to TCRAS and the animals who pass through its doors
