Doggy Day Out Program
Our Doggy Day Out program is one of our most popular programs. This program allows you to take one of our shelter dogs out for a day. You can go hiking, shopping, to the park or most anything else you can think of. Our shelter dogs get excited at the thought of getting out of the shelter for an adventure! It lowers the stress of the dogs and gives them a better chance at being adopted. This also is great for you because spending time with animals lowers your stress, and not everyone is able to have a dog of their own. So spend the day with one of our dogs!
This program is for visitors and locals! Our dogs will be happy to show you the beautiful area.

More InformationIf this sounds like something that you would love, its very simple to sign up! Fill out the Volunteer Agreement below, print out the participation manual and read the all of the great information. Then give us a call at 719-686-7707 to let us know 24 hours in advanced that you are planning a Doggy Day Out. You will get a backpack full of goodies and supplies for the day. All we ask is that you take some great pictures and share them with us, so we can share them on our social media! This helps the dogs be seen in a different light and increases their adoption potential! If you are wanting to learn more about dog behavior to get ready for your Doggy Day Out we highly recommend you visit I Speak Dog. This is a great place to learn more about animal body language and behavior. We want people to feel comfortable when taking a dog out and have a great day.
If you are not from this area and are looking for trails to hike in the area look at All Trails for information and details about hiking trails. Thank you Mutual Rescue for helping us get this program started and being such a great partner in the animal welfare community! |
