Licensing your pet
How to License Your Pet
The Teller County pet licensing program is managed by DocuPet Inc. DocuPet provides a licensing solution that is simple and convenient, and includes added benefits for pet owners. You can license online (click HERE) in less than five minutes and will immediately gain access to your profile, which is used to reunite you with your pet in the event that they become lost. You will be in compliance as soon as you complete the form, and your pet tag will be sent in the mail within 8 to 10 business days. Teller County’s licensing program operates on a 365 day cycle. This means that all licenses expire the following year on the date they were purchased.
Your animal cannot be licensed until they have had their first rabies vaccination. Please see your veterinarian to find out if your puppy is old enough to receive its rabies vaccination. Once they have their rabies vaccination make sure to bring it in with you or have it close by when you are getting ready to license your pet!

It is our responsibility to provide a safe community for our citizens and their pets. Licensing plays an important role in our ability to fulfill this responsibility. A license allows animal control to identify your pet, get in touch with you, and make decisions that are in the best interest of your pet should it become lost or injured.
When you license your pet you are not just following the law you are supporting TCRAS and the animals that come through the doors. You are helping feed, shelter, and providing medical care for the animals who need it the most. We Thank you for licensing your pet! |
