Fender "Leading with the American Spirit of the Wilderness: A Howling Good Future for Divide!"
Fender is a 1-and-a-half year old American Red wolf that was transferred to CWWC from Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium through the Saving Animals From Extinction Program.
"I enjoy initiating puppy play poses with my caretakers as soon as I wake up, cuddling up to my companion Shawnee, and educating the world about the rarest wolf in the world!" Fun Fact about Fender: I currently hold the title of “raven catcher” at the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center. I’ll never let a pesky bird close to my food or toys! One of my favorite games I play is “how much of Shawnee’s food can I steal before she chases me away?”

Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center The Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center aims to educate about the misconceptions regarding wolves, coyotes, and other wildlife species in an effort to foster more peaceful coexistence. Having the American Red wolf as the mayor of Divide would be historic as they're the rarest wolf in the world, and the only species exclusively native to the United States. Fender is one of 2 Red wolves in Colorado, representing his wild counterparts of which less than 15 remain in the wild.
