Tiny- " Keeping Teller County Wild"
Tiny is a 16 year-old sorrel (red) Mustang gelding from Salt Wells Creek, WY who lives in Guffey, Colorado. Tiny enjoys grazing, meeting people and licking cars when he can get away with it.
Get to know Tiny a bit more: Tiny is an American Mustang born in Wyoming, in an area knows as Salt Wells Creek. He spent approximately the first 3 years of his life running wild on the range. He was gathered as a young stallion because the number of horses was greater than what the land could support.
He was adopted from the BLM Wild Horse Corrals in Cañon City shortly thereafter and began his riding career at Tarryall River Ranch outside of Lake George. Tiny was a wonderful wrangler horse but when it came time for him to earn his keep as a 'dude horse', he said no thank you and developed the handbook "50 creative ways to leave a person in the dirt". His being strong willed and quirky are less than desirable traits in that line of work, so Tiny quit his job at the ranch and found his way to us via two other stops. Tiny is now 16 years old, weighs between 1200 and 1300 lbs and stands approximately 15.3hh tall. The big BLM Mustang has become a permanent member of our Ambassador herd and has a forever home with Wild Horse Outreach & Advocacy. |
Tiny is sponsored by
Wild Horse Outreach & Advocacy Wild Horse Outreach & Advocacy (WHOA), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Guffey, CO, was created in 2019 to humanely gentle Mustangs gathered from public lands and find carefully chosen homes for them. WHOA also provides guidance to current and prospective adopters/owners of once wild horses. We are participating to raise awareness for American Mustangs, their availability and trainability which is in line with our mission statement:
Helping Mustangs successfully transition from wild to willing and from holding pens to loving homes. Sustainably, with compassion and competence. 800 Stagecoach Road, Guffey Colorado

He picks up his feed bowl and holds it until given a treat in exchange for his bowl. He takes objects out of people's pockets and 'hands' them back to them. He blocks traffic by standing in the middle of the driveway. He knows many tricks to keep a rider on their toes.
Tiny is also a sure footed mountain horse and will bring a cow out of the deepest bog. |
If Tiny is elected as the new Mayor of Divide he promises "To represent and advocate for the people and animals in Teller County and the surrounding areas that live and want to continue to thrive here for the area's natural beauty, resources and sense of freedom. I promise to keep us grounded and remind us of our roots, the wild, tough and quirky character of the American West and those who love and depend on it, while looking to the future with hope and determination."
